The building footprint is currently 79 sq.m and it sits on a site of 234 sq.m while the proposed extension will increase the footprint to 87 sq.m. Accommodation is arranged over two floors. The ground floor comprises an entrance hall, living room, kitchen and wc, while the original single storey attached garage has been converted to create a dining room. On the first floor there is currently a master bedroom with ensuite shower room, two further bedrooms and a separate bathroom.

The proposed development involves the demolition of the attached converted garage and construction of a more substantial two-storey side extension. New accommodation within the extension will include a new kitchen/ breakfast room and dining room on the ground floor and two new bedrooms on the first floor. The landing at the top of the existing stair and adjacent single bedroom will receive some minor alterations in order to improve circulation on the first floor. The current kitchen will become a new study area with a small utility room adjacent.
